Although it is currently very gratifying that openings are taking place and events are permitted again, we are not in a position to hold the 37th Faaker See Open from August 7th to August 14th, 2021 due to the other restrictive regulations.
We are aware that currently restrictive regulations for the chess tournament could be lifted at the time of the Faaker See Open, but at this point, with all positive announcements for the summer, we cannot yet know and therefore still have no planning security. We therefore ask for your understanding that we have now decided to cancel the 37th Faaker See Open 2021.
At the same time, we are announcing the date for the 38th Faaker See Open 2022, which will take place from August 13th to August 20th, 2022.
We are very confident that we will then be able to handle the Open again without any problems and in the usual quality and would be very happy to see you again next year.
The participants registered for this year (and paid entry fees) will be taken over for the Faaker See Open 2022, as they did last year.
